Legal Services for Entrepreneurs is a program of Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights. We provide free transactional legal services to:
Low-income individuals who want to start or develop businesses;
Businesses committed to investing in economically distressed communities (including hiring people with arrest and conviction records); and
Mom and pop shops located in areas where gentrification is a force for displacement.
Free Workshops: 1-2 hour workshops on small business legal topics. Upcoming workshops are listed on our calendar, and a link to register is provided as well.
Brief Legal Advice Clinics: Free 30-45 minute one-on-one small business legal consultations. Upcoming clinics are listed on our calendar, and a link to register is provided as well. (Registration is required to secure a spot with an attorney.)
Pro-bono Attorney Matching: Extended work with a volunteer attorney on a small business legal issue (requires an initial intake and eligibility assessment, and does not include representation in court).
