our services

  • Our basic entrepreneurship program is a 6-session class using the "Lean Startup" methodology. You will learn to do customer discovery interviews to determine whether your product or idea has a market, refine your customer persona, learn to do quick experiments to test your idea, adapt your business model to increase your likelihood of success and create a visual business plan to determine your next steps for making your idea into a reality.
  • Our business planning class is an intensive, 12-week program focuses on helping students create a practical, effective business plan for their own businesses. This class addresses every aspect of starting a small business including marketing, management, finance, tax and record-keeping. Students receive individual consultations, financial templates, coaching on how to get funded, and a business plan review session. Qualified students are those who have already researched and tested their market.
  • Skill building workshops on Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Taxes, Contractors Program, Fashion Series, HR for Small Businesses, Legal, Licenses/Permits, Marketing and Sales, etc.
  • Monthly women’s networking events offering inspiring speakers and peer support. If you are a woman business owner or thinking of starting your own business, then this is a great opportunity for you to connect with others.
  • At the Renaissance Financing Resource Center we provide financial education, technical assistance and access to capital to help small business owners become better managers of their business finances and understand growth opportunities. This service includes: loan packaging, technical assistance, connections to small business loan programs, pre and post-loan consultation and credit counseling referrals.

What entrepreneurs say about Renaissance

Renaissance has been a great resource that has helped me to learn critical business skills and access business resources. I’m really proud to own my own business and be a part of a community that inspires me to be a success.
— Karwanna Dyson, Big Mouth Productions
Renaissance’s class was like fresh water where I could reminisce my early years as a business owner and share my knowledge with classmates, reexamine my values, and learn how I could improve upon my new financial consulting business.
— Astrid Lopez, Financial Consultant
I was scared of the legal and financial aspects of starting a business. Through the entrepreneurship classes, I learned business skills and the importance of social media and networking. More importantly, I know my own worth and the worth of my business. Now, I all I want are empty glasses to fill with my teas.
— Deb Smith, Tea Promenade
The most enjoyable part of owning my own business has been seeing the business model work and watching it unfold,” says James. “Renaissance has played a crucial role in the process and in my business success.
— James Mabrey, Your All Day Everyday Janitorial Services
When I feel stuck, I like that I can call Renaissance and get help. I feel secure knowing that somebody cares and has my back.
— Kellie Joe, Chicks and Love Pizza
